Laravel Cloud Migration

Move from Forge, VPS, or Docker to Laravel Cloud — without the drama

We audit and migrate your Laravel application from Forge, VPS, or Docker to Laravel Cloud — with a planned cutover window, a rollback plan, and support until everything settles.

What a migration actually involves

More than moving files — every moving part needs a plan

A Laravel Cloud migration touches your whole setup: databases, queues, storage, email, and DNS. Here is everything we plan and verify before, during, and after the move.

Suitability assessment

We check whether your application is a good fit for Laravel Cloud — dependencies, queue drivers, storage, and services that may need a different setup. If it is not a fit, we tell you honestly.

Inventory of what runs where

We map every moving part of your application — queues, the scheduler, storage, email, and websockets — so nothing gets left behind during the move.

Database & file transfer

We plan and execute the transfer of your database and files, verifying data integrity at every step so everything arrives complete.

Environment & secrets

We move environment variables and secrets into Laravel Cloud’s encrypted storage — no plaintext credentials, no drift between environments.

Build & runtime differences

Laravel Cloud builds and runs applications differently than Forge or a VPS. We adapt build steps, workers, and scheduled tasks to the new runtime before cutover.

DNS cutover with rollback plan

We switch DNS inside a planned window and keep a rollback plan ready, so we can return to your current host if anything goes wrong.

How we run it

A five-step migration, planned before anything moves

Two things we won’t promise: zero downtime and automatic cost savings. What we do promise: a planned cutover window, a rollback plan, and support until the migration settles.

Week 1

1. Discovery & audit

We go through your application, infrastructure, and dependencies, then give you a clear picture of what the migration involves and a realistic plan.

2. Architecture & migration plan

We design the target setup on Laravel Cloud and agree on the cutover window, the risks, and the rollback plan before anything moves.

3. Data & service migration

We move the database, files, queues, and services into the new environment, verifying data integrity as we go.

4. Testing & staging validation

We validate the application on staging — queues, scheduler, email, and storage — and fix anything that behaves differently before cutover.

5. Cutover, monitoring & support

We switch DNS during the agreed window and stay on hand to monitor, fix issues, and support you until everything settles.

FAQ

Questions we hear before every migration

Honest answers — including the ones that make some agencies uncomfortable.

Is zero downtime possible?

During cutover, DNS changes and the final data sync can take minutes. We plan a low-traffic window and keep the old environment running until the new one is verified — but we don’t promise absolute zero downtime, and we would be skeptical of anyone who does.

How long does a migration take?

It depends on the application. A simple app can move in a few days; a complex one with many services, integrations, or large data sets takes longer. We audit first, then give you a concrete timeline before any work begins.

Do you keep Forge running during the cutover?

Yes. We keep the current host fully running during the cutover, so we can roll back instantly if something doesn’t behave. The old environment stays up until you are confident in the new one.

What if the app is not a good fit for Laravel Cloud?

We will tell you. Suitability is the first thing we assess, and if Laravel Cloud isn’t the right home for your application — compliance, custom infrastructure, or other constraints — we will say so and recommend the honest alternative.

Will my hosting costs go down?

Costs on Laravel Cloud depend on your usage — traffic, storage, and compute. We can’t promise lower bills, and we won’t. What we can do is show you the pricing model, help you estimate your real usage, and let you decide with the numbers in front of you.

What do you need from us?

Access to the current server and codebase, and a contact who can answer questions about how the application runs today. We handle the rest — planning, execution, validation, and the cutover itself.
